A quick lesson in Linen to help readers understand the quality that they are purchasing. Linen is one of the olddest fabrics/textiles in existance. The egyptian mummies are discovered wrapped in linen, the Shroud of Turin (Holy Shroud) was made of Linen. Linen is made from the Flax plant which is a very strong fibrous plant with a simple but pretty blue periwinkle like flower. In the United States of America Flax is grown in North Dakota and Minnesota so it is no longer well-known in the states.

In Pioneer days linen was well-known as it was easy to grown in a variety of environments and not succeptible to the issues that plague the cotton industry. As Flax is simple to cultivate it does not require pesticides or herbicides and can grown in hostile climates with less water. Flax leaves tend to hold rain or moisture on their leaves which prevents evaportanspiration, making Flax a water conserving plant.

As Flax is such a strong fiber it is costly to process into a the linen fabric as it requries several processes. With the invention of the cotton gin, Linen disappeared from the American Fabricscape and cotton became king.

The world&#x27;s premium Flax is grown in France where it has perfect climate conditions for the Flax plant to reach its full potential. Thus French linen is considered to be the worlds premium linen, thus these sheets are made of the world&#x27;s most premium linen.

The qualities of linen that make it desirable are that it is highly absorbant, it dries quickly and is a very strong fabric. So these sheets are strong, quick drying (thus the cooling properties) and absorbant. The sheets absorb body sweats which dry quickly, we all know the process of evaporation produces a cooling sensation so these are cooling sheets. Another quality of linen is that it wrinkles easily. So the wrinkling of these sheets is only a testament to the fact that they are genuine linen.

So this lesson in linen helps explain the price point and the look of the sheets. When I think of sheets I do not think of my grandmother ironing bed sheets daily back in the 1970&#x27;s but she did. I am not sure if she was ironing linen sheets or cotton sheets but she has ended her human experience and I cannot ask her why she went thorugh all of that trouble.

Better yet it really does not mater, she was a cool grandmother and didn&#x27;t judge me for carryying a green purse with me as a toddler. We all must remember that cotton and linen both wrinkle as well as all synthetic fabrics, what keeps cotton from appearing wrinkled is the chemicals that it is sprayed with. We all know synthetic fabrics were invented to be cheap and trouble free yet who wants to wear plastic clothes and furthermore they certianly are not cooling. I remember my polyester fast food unitform back in the 1980&#x27;s, once that stuff wrinkles you can forget about getting those plastic wrinkles to disappear, no matter how much starch you spray on it the wrinkles are there to stay.

Now back to my grandmother and that overworked iron, the poor lady never did get to retire until she retired forever. I remember sleeping on those sheets as a kid and how they were rigid, full of starch and not soft at all.

It is a possibility that very high end boutique hotels might have sheets that are wrinkle free but they probably are not linen and do not have the qualities of linen. So when I go to my new linen clad bed and look at it I just tell myself I am living a bohemian lifestyle and deal with the few wrinkles that these linen sheets may have and I note that I made those wrinkles myself and drop any silly concern about wrinkling as sheets do wrinkle no matter what they are made of. At least my sheets are not made from chemically grown fibers or sprayed or injected with chemicals, and all for pennies a night.

So go ahead and splurge and get a set of these sheets, just do it. For the amount of hours you will spend in bed you will get your money&#x27;s worth. After all if linen is good enough for Jesus christ its good enough for (fill your name in the here).

So all definitions and silliness aside I really do like these sheets, they are so inviting for an afternoon nap with a cup of coffee, yes I said it, brew in bed, and a brownie.

I 100 percent recommend these sheets. I really like the feel and they are cooling for our neverending summer here in Florida. Mabye I will save on my air conditioning bill with these.

Understand linen to understand the cost of these sheets

I have become a convert to using linen sheets in the last year. The claims about linen being temperature regulating are all true at least in my case. They are also very moisture wicking. Linen sheets feel rougher to the hand than long staple cotton which I previously preferred. You can feel the texture when you sleep on them but it is not a rough feeling, but very natural and soothing to me. When I use linen sheets and a linen duvet cover as well, the sheets and duvet stay aligned and neither slips off me or the bed which is not only more comfortable but also make bedmaking each morning very easy. When I wash these there is an enormous amount of lint which does reduce over time and is apparently normal. My other linen sheets are cheaper and of a coarser weave though still very comfortable. These are better made and well finished and the weave is visibly finer. Also these come out of the dryer much less wrinkled - they are a bit rumbled looking as un-ironed linen tends to be but I like that look.

Well made linen sheets worth the splurge

I got my blanket and I absolutely love it. I love because is very soft, has beautiful design also makes my bed look so gorgeous !!! I would have one of each color if I could. It’s is well made &amp; very stylish! You can use on your bedroom or living… so cozy!

Gorgeous and unbelievable soft

I was very skeptical of these sheets because I have never bought such expensive sheets in my life BUT I am over the moon happy I did.
These sheets came packaged very well in a adorable bag for storing them.
They are definitely high quality, breathable and durable but they are so soft and comfortable.
They are linen so they will wrinkle but I absolutely don&#x27;t mind that considering how great they feel.
They fit my king size bed perfectly with just the right amount of hang over on each side. The pillow cases are the same material, they are made for LONG pillows.
You definitely get what you pay for and these sheets are worth the pricetag!

Worth every penny!

I switched to linen sheets years ago, and have had a few different sets over that time. I decided to try this set because we&#x27;re going from a queen size to king size mattress, and I wasn&#x27;t sure what brand to buy our new sheets from. Well, my search is already over thanks to these. I&#x27;ve had mid- to high mid-range to low-range priced sheets. This set is about as much as the most expensive set I&#x27;ve bought, and it&#x27;s far better.

Linen typically feels a little scratchy right out of the packaging, but these are softer out of the box than any others I&#x27;ve tried. It is, of course, lint city when you first wash and dry them--but that&#x27;s also typical. These are lightweight and soft already, which will be especially welcome in warmer months. Very very happy to have these linen sheets from Nuzzie, and I definitely recommend!

Take it from a linen semi-snob: these are great

This set is an understated bit of extravagance for my linen closet, prewashed and as soft right out of their protective self-fabric bag as if they&#x27;d been in my rotation for years. One of the wonderful things about linen sheets is that, although comparatively expensive initially, if properly cared for they can last for many decades, making them quite economical in the long run—and they increasingly soften with age and use.

Although I wouldn&#x27;t call myself a linen connoisseur, I do have several sets of linen sheets (and give them regularly as gifts as well, because so few people seem to have them but most love them once they&#x27;ve tried them). So I was able to compare these with others I have, both washed and new: The fiber and weave of this set feels comparable to my Company Store &quot;comfort wash&quot; set, sourced from &quot;European&quot; linen, which is also comparable in retail price. Both are finer than the fiber in my two &quot;vintage wash&quot; Merryfeel sets, which are sourced from French linen but have a slightly coarser thread and feel, and a correspondingly lower retail price. I recently got a substantially lower-priced set (not pictured), also French linen made in China—as I believe all these sets were—that I haven&#x27;t yet washed, which is a bit lighter in weight with a more open and coarser weave and noticeably less soft right out of the bag.

This set is very nicely made, properly cut and neatly sewn with all seams fully finished (not serged but folded under and stitched). At this price point, I would have liked to see some added finish detailing such as hemstitched borders or embroidery, but that&#x27;s a minor quibble. The bottom sheet is fully elasticized and both sheets fit well on my bed, with plenty of tucking overhang on a standard 10&quot; mattress. The cases that came with my full-size set are queen-size cases (30 inches long).

For those who haven&#x27;t used them before, linen is hands-down the most temperature-regulating fiber for sheets—cool in summer and warm in winter (although I like cotton flannels in winter for the cozy factor). It has a somewhat deserved reputation for wrinkles, but if you take linens out of the wash immediately and hang them on a line or spread them on a lawn to dry, straightening all the hems and corners as you do, instead of wrinkles you&#x27;ll mostly have a softly wavy or &quot;pocketed&quot; texture that&#x27;s actually better than ironed sheets for cooling action. I may take a quick iron or steamer to the top hem and any edges that have gotten really twisted up in the wash, but that&#x27;s about it. If outdoor drying isn&#x27;t an option, you can also run linens through the dryer on medium—just don&#x27;t crowd them (one sheet at a time is best unless your dryer is extra large), dry to damp only, then remove and spread on a bed to finish drying (this doesn&#x27;t take long and is even faster if you can turn a fan on in the room).

All in all, I highly recommend this high-quality set and look forward to enjoying them for many years.

A lovely, luxurious set of fine prewashed linen, well made and simply finished

I&#x27;ll gladly admit that I&#x27;ve become spoiled on satin and bamboo sheets lately- but I&#x27;ve been curious about trying linen out, so I happily took the chance to do so. I&#x27;ve heard of the amazing properties of linen, and couldn&#x27;t wait to feel it for myself. I&#x27;m tired of running through cheap cotton sheets that get holes or tear after only a couple of years, and the longevity of linen sheets was quite interesting to me.

As far as I can tell, the claims of linen&#x27;s benefits are not exaggerated. I&#x27;m a hot sleeper and sweat easily- these sheets keep me cool without being cold to the touch like satin, and I don&#x27;t accidentally launch pillows when I roll around at night on them. These wick away sweat, and the breathability of the fabric is wonderful! My boyfriend and I both are hot sleepers, I easily sweat in any temperature, and we live in the sub tropics- I&#x27;m loving these sheets already!

These felt quite soft after the first wash, and though the fabric feels different (slightly coarser) than smooth and slick satin or bamboo, it&#x27;s still very pleasing to the touch, and gentle on my skin. This fabric is very comfortable to sleep on, and I love the way a linen pillowcase feels to snuggle up on.

These sheets fit over my 13&quot; mattress and topper setup with some room to spare, and they don&#x27;t creep off as my boyfriend and I sleep and roll around on them. The fabric does get slightly wrinkly, but I couldn&#x27;t care less about wrinkles on sheets. I love that these linen sheets came in a linen storage bag too, a very nice touch. The color is a deep blue and matches my decor well, and so far hasn&#x27;t faded with washings.

I am extremely pleased with these linen sheets, and am a solid believer in linen bedding now!

These sheets really are awesome!

I was blown away when I saw the price tag but these sheets are heavenly. I wear linen clothes over the summer all the time but had no idea how these sheets would feel as we always used the cotton ones in the past.

Our mattress is very thick (16inches) which is always a concern but the fitted sheet fits perfectly.

Did I already say that these sheets are great! Extremely comfortable and soft right out of the box. After the initial wash, they felt even better. To top it off, it makes our room looks good and cozy.

This is what we had been missing all our lives (DEEP POCKETS)

These sheets scream luxury. Nothing in the summer feels better on your skin more than linen. It is cool and breathes. These sheets are no different.

They arrive in a lovely linen bag with handles. I ordered a gray color and it is very subtle and soft. Yes, linen wrinkles a lot, but I am willing to overlook that flaw, iron them once before changing the bedsheets, and be done with it. Over time, these sheets will become softer and softer with every wash.

You get 4 pieces to this set: one top sheet, one fitted, and two pillowcases (envelope style). I am thinking of monogramming the pillowcases to give them a more custom look. The company is based in the USA but these sheets were made in China of French linen. They come with a sizeable price tag.

Luxury that I can Live with

My daughter loves linen sheets and has been recommending that I try them so I was happy to get this sheet set. These are quality linen sheets. They’re well made and a good weight. They came in a linen bag which I love! Once I received the set I washed everything before using them. I washed them in cold water and dried them on low heat. There was no care instructions with the set but I looked up online how to care for them.

I have a thick mattress and thick mattress pad. The fitted sheet did fit my bed tightly. They didn’t quite cover the entire side of the mattress, which you can see in my fourth picture. The entire sheet has an elastic which I always like. Because it didn’t fit perfectly I was a little worried that it wouldn’t stay in place but I haven’t any issues with the sheet riding up or coming loose. I don’t typically use a top sheet because I’m a hot sleeper and don’t need one more item on me. But since it came with the set I decided to try it. The top sheet is much bigger than expected, and actually covers my entire mattress. The set also comes with two pillowcases which worked great for my pillows.

I’ve slept on the sheet sets for about a week and am impressed with them. They really are good quality. For me, the most important part is they don’t heat me up or increase my temperature while sleeping. Im not saying they have a cooling effect, I have sheets that do that. These are comfortable and breathable. I haven’t had any issues of waking up sweating during the night and I think it’s because of how breathable the linen is.

These linen sheets are a little more pricey than regular sheets but I think when comparing them to other linen sheets, they’re a great price.
