Numerous studies have shown that weighted blankets provide therapeutic benefits including anxiety relief, stress relief, and improved sleep quality.

There are very little differences in therapeutic efficacy between brands of weighted blankets. However, if your weighted blanket is uncomfortable or too hot, it might be hard to use on a regular basis so it's important to take these other factors into account when making your decision.

Many brands claim they’re breathable, few truly are.

Traditional weighted blankets are made out of 15+ pounds of heavy duty fabric, glass beads and polyester filling. All that material traps heat like a greenhouse.

On the other hand, Nuzzie’s open weave design allows hot air to escape, so you can be comfy in any climate.

Other weighted blankets get their weight from some sort of filler, most commonly, glass beads.

Pockets are sewn into the blanket to keep this filler in place (the grid-like stitching pattern you can see above). However, this is an imperfect solution as the filler is still free to shift around within the pocket. This is why other weighted blankets (particularly low quality ones with large pockets) are noisy and can feel lumpy.

Nuzzie, on the other hand, does not use any fillers, just super-soft down-alternative filling. Our filling stays in place, so there's no noise or shifting weight.

Each Nuzzie is filled with a super-soft down-alternative filling that is made from 100% recycled fabric.

In fact, each blanket is recycled from 500+ plastic bottles that would have otherwise polluted our planet.

We're especially proud of our recycled filling because it's indistinguishable from non-recycled alternatives in blind testing, so we're able to have a positive environmental impact without sacrificing the quality of our product.

The beads apply a lot of wear-and-tear on the outer fabric of the blanket, so in order to prevent fraying and leaks, they must use a heavy duty fabric, which, suffice to say, isn't going to be the softest fabric in the world.

Nuzzie, on the other hand, doesn't rely on fillers to add weight, so we're able to use microfiber, the softest fabric available. As an added bonus, it's also quick drying!
